Pool Time!

We went up to visit the family for Father's Day this year, and today Aria experienced her first time in the pool. She seemed to take right to the water, splashing around like it was her personal bathtub. We'll have to enroll her in swimming lessons ASAP!

Sunol Regional Wilderness

Little Yosemite: We made a point to get out to Little Yosemite this weekend at the Sunol Regional Wilderness before it dried up for the year. Luckily, with all the rain that we got this year, we were able to go and see the falls later in the season than usual. Even though it was really warm, this was a pretty and enjoyable hike.
  • Rating:
    Pros: Peaceful river and beautiful waterfalls; Cons: a little crowded (wanted to get closer to the falls, but too many people) and the hike can get pretty dusty in hot, drier weather.
  • Difficulty:
    A slow and steady climb, very reasonable for the beginning hiker.
  • Best Season(s):
Hiking Stats: Courtesy of Google's MyTracks and Ranica's Android phone, we were able to capture the (approximate) stats from today's hike -
  • Total Time (including rest stops): 01 hr 32 mins
  • Total Hiking Time: 57 mins
  • Total Distance: 3.95 miles
  • Min Elevation: 291 ft
  • Max Elevation: 499 ft
  • Elevation Change (includes all climbs and dips): 1228 ft
